Beautification Complete Haggin Museum Renovated Planter 2021

On September 30, 2021, Stockton Beautiful and the Haggin Museum co-hosted a dedication of the newly designed planter in front of the museum and a reception followed. The renovation of the planter and irrigation was dedicated in honor of Tod Ruhstaller who recently retired after 39 years as curator and CEO at the museum. The plantings emphasize low water use and decorative effects from foliage as well as flower color. The plant palette includes a multi-trunked Mediterranean Fan Palm, Sago Palms, Canna Lilies, Drift Roses, Storm Cloud Agapanthus, Red Yucca, Flirt Nandina, Red Hot Poker and Mystic Spires Salvia. The irrigation water is delivered through drip-lines that sit right below the surface of the soil delivering water directly to the plants while eliminating overspray and minimizing evasion
